Ponder ponder ponder
Pondering all the deep questions, the whys, the what fors, the do i really want to do this, the what's right and what's wrongs... the hows..
It is a little confusing but i know once this pondering phase is over, as always, everything will be clearer, i'll be stronger, i will know better what to do and where to go..
Here's a verse to cheer you and me on our journeys..
"Give us help for the hard task,
human help is worthless,
In God we'll do our very best,
He'll flatten the opposition for good."
Psalm 60:11-12 (The Message Version)

winter is cruel
It makes you eat. It makes you fat.
The last two nights i spent some time worshiping and singing and praying while playing the keyboard, just how i used to. Old songs, new songs, own songs, songs-made-up-along-the-way, whatever. Beautiful moments. Humbled and thankful.
To all Hobartians, please rug up for the cold. And to all those having exams, may our good Lord be with you throughout the whole time.
Lotsa love.
p/s: Don't get me wrong tho, i still rather it be cold than hot. :))

Hello Hello! How are we? Sorry for putting this blog to sleep while i buzz around minding my own business. :D

Con con asked me why i haven't updated my blog for so long and that, i think, is a very good question. It could be because I have been terribly busy but it could also be because i have other more exciting things to do and i would love to think that other people have more exciting things to do as well, than to read my humble blog.
But well, i guess i should really get back to blogging even if it's just jotting down one or two lines, whether it's for my own record (so that i can look back and laugh at silly things i've done) or for those who might be interested in what i'm up to (especially those back home and far away).
The days gone by since my last post have pretty much been occupied with work, church and friends. And ops, i think i forgot to blog about how wonderful a birthday i had! It was overwhelmingly amazing other than the fact that the number (which everyone says doesn't matter that much) is now 24 rather than 23.
The last two days were spent doing training with the Pharmacy Guild and i hate to admit it but i did enjoy it. I am now more able to put myself in the shoes of the doctors and patients, those with difficulty communicating and also those of aboriginal descent. I cannot believe just how much has been taken (more like robbed) from the aboriginals and the exercise we did today was so emotionally engaging that i felt so drained after the session. It messed with my mind a bit because i always thought that the aboriginals have a lower life expectancy because they do not know how to take care of themselves, they're always drunk or intoxicated and they just waste their life away living on government support. How terribly wrong was i? According to the aboriginal health solutions worker, they were originally very healthy until they started getting all these diseases brought in by the white people, of which they didn't know how to treat. To think of it, it's probably quite true that they started having chronic diseases after the invasion of the whites because they had to stop hunting and start eating burgers, stop moving around and live in camps under the captivity and oppression of the whites.
Okay, i didn't intend to go on and on about what i learnt at the aboriginals health centre today but i thought it was truly enlightening.
What i really wanted to do in this post was to say thank you to God for some BFF time (finally!), for making things possible for me to get this far, for placing people around me and in my life at this point of time so that we can share life together, for teaching me stuff at just the right time.
And the other thing was about Ting Ting, our precious and naughty little angel at home. She is just sooo adorable these days and my heart just melts when she calls me 'ah yee ooiiiii'! She learns things so fast and her memory is just amazing! We just have so much fun finding out what new things she's learnt everyday and just pushing the limits every now and then to see how far she can go! She not only knows the names of the animals now, she knows what sounds they make too! I'll have to have a little 'chat' with her everyday or every other day just to keep up with her progress.. :D And by chat i really mean chat. Half of the time we can understand what each other's talking now, which is really fun cos i know she understands when i tell her things and i can also understand what she is trying to tell me (although sometimes i just say yah if i don't)
Tears start forming around the corners of my eyes when i think about having to say goodbye when i eventually leave this place. How old will she be then? What would i tell her? What would she say to me? Will we hug each other and cry? Will i be able to toughen up and walk off when she calls out ah yee oiii ah yee oiii? :(
No matter how naughty you can be at times, no matter how long more I have with you or whether you will even remember me, I just want to let you know that i've been so blessed being your ah yee oiii and i love you very much, precious one!

Sorry i've been selfish! :(
Che just told me something. And when i heard it, i felt so guilty.
Why haven't i thought about this? Why was i so selfish?
All i had in mind was that i couldn't possibly take leave during this period of time. It'd be too difficult. It'd be too expensive. I've met my parents and my sister few months ago anyway. Christmas away from home was bearable, I'll surely be alright being away from home for Chinese New Year too. Plus, I won't wanna go through all the crying and stuff when i have to leave...
But why have i never thought about my grandparents? Why?
Sorry po to put a tear on your face when i called home the other day. It's supposed to be a joyous celebration, both the new year and your birthday.
Sorry to have only thought about myself.
I promise i will never ever miss another chinese new year with you all again...
and i don't want to be the only one missing from the family reunion, ever again.

Happy Chinese New Year!
Just thought i'll drop a note here to keep track of time! Today's the 3rd day of CNY and it's the first time i'm away from home for CNY. I realised i've missed alot being away from home, such as my cousins' weddings and the birth of my cousins' children.
But, guess i just need to keep reminding myself why i'm here.
Too busy to blog nowadays. If i have the slightest bit of extra time, i'll do something to give my brain a break like watching dramas :p I have sooo little time for myself now having to work 8 hours a day and then come home to tonnes of homework for my internship.
We had a reunion dinner at home with garlic prawns, fatt choi mushroom with bokchoy, pork ribs, chicken wings, mixed vege, lotus root and squid soup, super spicy sze chuan fish, and lychee konyaku jelly. yums! thank you Lord that you've given me this opportunity to celebrate CNY away from home. I do miss home tho. Alot. :(
Being away from home has made me appreciate my family more. And today, i thanked God for placing me in a christian family.
Po, happy birthday. Kung, please get well soon. Yees and Kiu, miss your silliness so much. To all my dearest cousins, wish i was there for all that fun. I hope i won't miss another CNY at home. Nothing beats being around loved ones.
Sending home much love from hobart this CNY. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

blogpost number 200!
Wow, what a journey. 200 blogposts already!? From a pharmacy student to a pharmacist intern. Uhm.. the rest of the things are pretty much the same i think? :D Well, at least, i'm no longer a student, no longer a dependant, no longer a non-contributing member of the family.
This special post i would like to dedicate to my precious family.
Firstly, my dad. I still remember the time when he said to me, "it will be alright, we will have what it takes to send you overseas, you don't have to worry..". I still remember how when i leave home after my break, che will text me and say "please call dad when you're free, he misses you very much..". I often find it annoying when dad tells me what's happening in tassie after he reads the mercury online, and tells me the what the weather forecasts says about the weather that day. How more ungrateful can i be when i have a father who not only looks out for not only his own daughter but also what's happening around her. And this daughter who's naive and oblivious to all that, doesn't even appreciate it.
Next comes Mummy. If you've not seen her in person/ a picture of her already, i look exactly like her, just a bit younger :) I remember when i was younger, we had to write a composition about the person we admired the most. I wrote about my mum. I said she was the best mum in the whole wide world, she cleans the house especially her kitchen until it's sparkly clean, she makes my bed, washes my laundry, cooks for me and gives me surprises when i am sad. I know all mums do that, and i won't attempt to say my mum does it the best, but mummy, thanks for everything. Thanks for always giving and doing whatever you think is best for me.
Che, my sister, my friend, my teacher and the best companion one can ever have. She said to me when she graduated, "you've still got a loonngg loonng way to go..." and finally now, it's my turn to graduate and join the work force. Che, thank you for all the encouragement and guidance you've given me all these years. Thank you for not only teaching me but also showing me how to live a life of obedience to God, a life of surrendering to His will and His calling, a life lived to shed light upon other people's life, a life lived to bring glory to God's name. I think i've said this before but i'll say this again, thank you for being the greatest inspiration in my life.
Ko, knowingly or unknowingly, you too have been a great influence in my life. Although you were away from home for a big part of my life, i've always been proud to have you as my brother. You've not always been known for being good but i've always admired your courage to be different, to say what is on your heart, to not care about what others think, to try things i would never dare to try. You've never really showed the other side of yourself, but i know that you may bully me at home but you also will bring me goodies from school, you may scold me for being naive but i know you also want me to grow up. I still remember the times we both stay up late to watch tv together, watch drama and talk about silly things when everybody else is asleep.
And last but not least, Dai sou, thank you for being part of our family and we are truly blessed to have you with us. We may not have known each other for a very long time but i have always been blessed by your hospitality when we're visiting in KL. Thank you for looking after ko and treating mum and dad as your own parents. I'm sure we'll have plenty of time and opportunity to know each other better in the future.
Dad, i wish you the best of health and plenty of good years to enjoy what your children can bring back into the household. May God make your life even richer as you sow more in God's kingdom.
Mum, may you become more and more beautiful in the years to come and may your many dreams come true as God fulfills His promises to you one by one. May the rest of your years be filled with love joy and peace, miracles and plenty of good things.
Che, may your light shine brighter wherever you are and in everything that you do. May your storehouse grow bigger by the day as you labour for the Lord. Greater things are yet to come, and i know your life will only get more exciting! :)
Ko, may you find when you seek, harvest plenty when you sow, and may doors be open to you when you knock. May you only go higher and grow stronger in every aspect of your life.
Dai sou, may this new year be a new beginning for you, and may it bring countless blessings and gifts from above, hopefully a new addition to the family too :)
much love, wei.

happy new year!
i must write this post before it's not 'new year' anymore or i get too busy to blog..hee!
holidays have come and gone, graduation come and gone, friends and family came and gone, christmas came and gone, new year's celebration came and gone. Now, whether i like it or not, 2011 is here.
it feels exciting and scary at the same time. i know it will be a good year, but i also know that i need to work hard. thank you Lord that you've given me a fresh start, a fresh new page to write on and a new beginning, not having to carry old baggages on my shoulders.
thank you for friends and for giving me a family i can celebrate this special time of the year with here in hobart. Bbqs and games, celebrations and fun, sun and sea and sand, lavender and blowhole, seafood and wallaby, friends and friends of friends.
I feed myself now. I feel like a big girl. I have to learn to speak up and put up a bold front. I have to learn to be calm and think rationally in situations where i am likely to panic. And my new year's resolution? Speak louder, work faster, look further, think bigger. And yes, love yaya more!
Everything starts on full gear from tomorrow onwards. No more holidays. I shall not whinge, i shall not moan. I shall give praise, i shall rejoice!
Che asked me if i got holidays in May... *chuckles* maybe i do?
