just counting my blessings, i've got 8 cards for my birthday this year, blessed me! :)
2 more days to Easter Holidays! yay!
i might not be going anywhere for the holidays. it's actually a bit complicated, so i might actually be going somewhere. anyway, nothing much to look forward to except for some much needed rest.
if i'm not going anywhere, i'll still be busy preparing for toxicology test, psp essay, PSA quiz, calculation test (again), literature review and other stuffs.. which will be more than enough to drown me and snatch my holiday away from me.
it has been very busy days the last few weeks, i wanted to continue bragging about how wonderful i felt about my birthday :p but i just didn't manage to slot in time for it. (even if i did have a bit of time, i'd sneak into bed to get a few more hours of not beauty but "life-sustaining" sleep)
i had a presentation for my honours project and there were like 10 lecturers there! i thought i would stutter, well i did a little, but overall i'm quite satisfied with my presentation, although i couldn't answer alot of the questions since our supervisors have not told us much about our projects yet. i left it for my supervisor to answer the questions, to the point that i didn't even listen to the question, so embarassing! but i'm just glad we (jiena, maria, michelle and myself) are doing this together, under the same supervisors! ^_^
then i had therapeutics test which consist of 50 multiple choice questions. what made it tremendously stressful was that marks will be taken off if you got the most inappropriate answer among the 5 choices. the thing is, all of them look really similar and our hope is just that we don't choose the worst answer.
so we had discussions after discussions, day in day out, met up morning and night, hours and hours of doing past year questions and case studies. just one more step to keeping my eyes open with toothpicks.
it IS hard work but all that was made easier and much more bearable with a good, supportive bunch of friends who genuinely care for each other, who are happy to help each other. i'm truly blessed.
it's really comforting to know that you have the support of a good bunch of friends, i looked forward to walking home together last year and this year i'm just so amazed and looking forward to building stronger bonds with each other. we shall get each other through this last two years, i insist! =)
anyway, what i really wanted to share in this post is a phrase from my bible reading today
"Knowledge buffs up, but love builds up." - 1 Corinthians 8:1b
i can understand this more and i've got to understand the heart of my Father more when He reminds me about the professor that was mentioned by Ps Phil Baker at Church Together 2009 yesterday night. God didn't use him when he was smart, but when he became insane and cried out desperately to God. Not because God purposely made him go insane to use him but that God can only use us when we are fully yielded to Him, not when we think we are smart enough.
the Lord again prompted me to set apart 2 years for Him.
i set apart 1 year for the Lord before, in year 2006. i surrendered it to the Lord and stayed back in Malaysia to work in d'Stream, refraining from going for further studies immediately after high school.
it was so strong, i am certain that was what He wanted me to do. and i am more certain now than before when i look back.
i am now happily studying in Tasmania with some scholarship, and i have learnt more that i could ever imagine during that year i set apart for him, despite all sorts of objections and opinions from others.
i know it may sound foolish to others and i would think so too, if i hadn't heard from God.
i know it when He tells me to do things like this. and i am certain that He will look after me during and after the years He's asked me to set apart.
i felt it again now, after 2 years, and i think it will be this coming 2 years. i guess it would be 2009 and 2010. or probably from this beginning of the hebrew year to the end of the next hebrew year.
i didn't surrender my whole heart to him in 2006 and that's what i'm going to do this time, it's not about studies, not about work or ministry or healing or anything but purely to give my heart to Him. i want to see that at the end of it, i will be more courageous that Peter on that day Jesus died on the cross for me.
i surrender my love ones and my worries to you Lord Jesus..
"Lead me to the Cross, where Your love poured out;
Bring me to my knees, Lord i lay me down;
Rid me of myself, I belong to You..
Lead me to Your heart." - Brooke Fraser (Lead me to the Cross)
May His blessings be overflowing in your life today! =)
