OOoooo... it's been long since the last entry.
It has been busy weeks, day in day out, working through the nights, stumbling over the weekdays, into the joyous, precious, most awaited weekends and huff, another week's gone.
I have so much planned for everyday of the week such that when some one announces that something's going on, or i have to be somewhere, sometime during the week, i have to go through in my head everyday of the week to remind myself about things that i should not forget, find the day that the person mentioned and think hard whether i have had something planned.
Before I know it, monday's gone.. wednesday hurries by, friday.. then monday again.
sigh, saturdays and sundays only last 2 secs.
well, life goes on and on a happy note, i am going for placement to Mersey Hospital sometime in May. I am soo excited! and i'm counting the days to it. I'm going with Jiena, so double the fun, DOUBLE the excitement, yay!
amidst all the tests, meeting with lecturers, tutes, and all the placement-shirt-pick-up sessions, mantoux-test-sighting sessions, test-review sessions in between, i would like to share something i've learnt over the very fun weekend i had last week.
we had a barbeque on Saturday, and i brought Jiena, who to-my-amusement-and-excitement, had a blast with my friends. Her mum's going to church now in Canada, so yay! another 2 steps closer! praise the Lord!
then we went to Elizabeth's 50th birthday! Elizabeth's like our dear mum here.
then on Sunday, a great sermon by Alicia on 'Hunger', which is what i really want to share.
She said: "Everything starts with a hunger, when we're hungry, we seek God and He moves in us."
But some of us has lost our hunger for more of God, for His Word, His touch, His presence, along the way. How do we get hungry again?
She shared some tips, which i think are very practical:
"1. be humble. put ourselves aside and put God in the centre.
2. exercise and flex our muscles. we will naturally get hungry as we exercise our spiritual muscle, our gifts, our faith..
3. go near the food. (i can relate to this especially well, cos i understand what it feels to go hungry when food is somewhere around)."
So, let's get hungry for God again. There's so much more that He wants to show us.
After church, we went to the Devenish family's big, beautiful, warm and cosy house for lunch. They have 9 kids and they are just a bunch of amazing people.
I've learnt so much from Helen's sharings and she certainly has encouraged me to walk on a higher level of faith with God. What an eye-opening experience!
here's their website: http://www.devenishfamily.com/index.html
well, that's my very fun and fruitful weekend, which has challenged me in my faith, in my love, in my walk with God.
may you be challenged to draw closer to the Father during this season as well. Be blessed! =)
